Clubtext.eu, the instant messaging solution for clubs, was launched in Croke Park Conference Centre at the weekend. GAA delegates from around the country were attending the National Coaching & Medical Conference. Over 750 delegates were present over Friday and Saturday and viewed demonstrations of the system from our newly designed exhibition. The audience was mainly made up of coaching, administration and medical personnel from football, hurling and camogie clubs. Clubtext received a great response from these personnel who require such a system to improve their communication with teams, supporters and club officials alike. The were many concerns and needs expressed by people visiting the stand. Feedback Many people pointed to the fact that Personal Expense incurred by Club Personnel through use of their mobile phones and the time needed to communicate to all their players and members, who in turn are sometimes hard to track down , is a major overhead. In the Ireland of today, with long commutes and longer working hours people's time is a very valuable resource. The GAA and the hard working coaches and officers have long prided themselves on the amateur and voluntary nature of our national games. This has and will, stand all involved in good stead for the future. The communications solution provided by Clubtext will allow this ethos to prevail by reducing the time and cost involved in "spreading the word" on behalf of our clubs. One delegate pointed to the fact that during the season just concluded his club spent around €1000 on communication with players alone. This is a big outlay for any club of any size. Clubtext offers lower cost text messages whilst reducing the time needed to send messages and  receive replies to the coach or officer involved. Current Systems A high percentage of clubs use similar systems offered by the mobile operators in Ireland. This involves the purchase of one mobile phone for the club for use by all personnel. This was found to be very restictive on clubs who then need to rely on one person within the club to communicate with players, supporters etc. This system proved unreliable in many situations, not least the communication of fixture changes and training rescheduling which often occur at the last moment. Again Clubtext has the answer with the ability for ALL coaches, officers and any other personnel to utilise the same account for texting and email. There is no limitation to the amount of administrative personnel that you allocate to different teams or groupsd within your club. These personnel in turn can log in securely online and send messages from the web, whether they are at work or at home. Personnel can also use their own mobiles to send messages to groups while on the go. This is a very simple process and only costs the coach one message to send out to a whole panel of players.
