The history of Ivertec dates back to 1993 when the company was set up to provide software programming services to the banking and pharmaceutical industry sectors. The company now operates 4 business units, these are:-
The company has developed a strong R&D capability and has identified a significant industry trend to adopt and use the Internet for software solutions and services rather than purchasing boxed software and installing it on desktop computers.
Exploitation of this trend is seen as key to the ongoing success of the company. The business model “Software as a Service” (SaaS) provides the company with several advantages; the most significant is that the web based products can be delivered to any customer any where in the world without any distribution or installation overheads. In addition the customer can receive full after sales support from our low cost base in rural South Kerry.
The company has identified a number of niche SaaS type web products. The first 2 products have been through R&D and testing and are now available for sale on the web since 1st January, 2007. The company plans to research and develop a further 2 additional web products in 2007.
This involves the design, development and support of once off software systems for individual customers in the pharmaceutical and construction industry.
Ivertec pioneered the use of student swipe card systems for secondary schools in Ireland . The demand for the system is driven by its time saving features and its ability to help schools comply with the Education and Welfare Act 2000. Currently 55 schools use the system.
